When in Rome (or BNE), pop in to the Aperol Spritz pop-up bar

BAC - Aperol Spritzwer Pop-Up Bar

Friday 14 December 2018: Airport Retail Group Australia has opened a pop-up Aperol Spritz Bar at Brisbane Airport (BNE), giving passengers a deliciously enticing reason to head to the airport early over the Christmas and New Year’s period.

Located on the iconic ‘Village Green’ within BNE’s International Terminal, the pop-up bar will operate for six weeks, offering passengers a refreshing taste of summer with Aperol Spritz cocktails alongside a selection of delicious appetisers.

Passengers will also be able to enjoy impromptu performances thanks to a public use grand piano, located next to the bar on the green.

Andrew Brodie, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) General Manager, Airline and Retail Management, said the concept was brought together in line with a trinity approach, seeing the tenant, landlord and supplier collaborating to deliver a unique and exciting concept.

“Airport Retail Group Australia, Brisbane Airport Corporation and Campari have worked together to deliver a pop-up bar that leverages the open ‘Village Green’ space just in time for Christmas.

“The ‘Village Green’ is an amazing space within the International Terminal which is activated throughout the year with a number of different programs and events. Last month it was home to the first cricket match to ever be held in an airport terminal, and now it is home to a pop-up concept designed to maximise sales during this peak period.

“Sitting within the Aperol Bar, you really feel as though you could be in any one of Brisbane’s beautiful outdoor spaces,” Mr Brodie said.

George Drivas, Airport Retail Group Australia director, said Brisbane Airport has been an incredible partner for this project.

“Airport Retail Group Australia has called BNE home for 10 years, and through that time we have evolved a number of concepts.

“We hope that passengers enjoy the delicious and fun taste of summer while passing through Brisbane Airport’s International Terminal these holidays.”
