Game on for Game Over at Skygate
Brisbane Airport is taking entertainment up a gear, with Game Over set to launch Queensland’s largest electric go-kart circuit at Skygate, Brisbane's fastest-growing lifestyle hub.
The centrepiece of the new venue will be a spectacular multi-level karting raceway providing drivers an unmatched racing experience, with large fleet of karts catering for guests from as young as four years old.
The new family entertainment venue will also feature an eight-lane ten-pin bowling alley, the latest arcade games and range of interactive attractions, as well as a food and beverage precinct.
There will also be dedicated spaces for birthday parties, corporate events and group functions.
The new venue is set to open at Skygate in 2027, in a 3,600m2 purpose-built facility.
Game Over joins a growing line-up of major attractions at Skygate, alongside Fever’s immersive dinosaur experience Dinos Alive, indoor entertainment venue Area 51, Golf Central and the popular Landers Pocket.
Skygate is the home of DFO Brisbane and Queensland’s only 24/7 Woolworths, plus offers ample free parking and easy access to arterial roads.
Brisbane Airport Executive General Manager Commercial Scott Norris said the addition of Game Over was another milestone in Skygate’s transformation from a retail only precinct into one where visitors can spend an entire day.
“Skygate is evolving into much more than just a shopping destination. We’re creating a place where people can come together to enjoy memorable experiences, whether that’s racing friends on the go-kart track or teeing off at the driving range, followed by a bite to eat afterwards.
“Every new attraction adds another reason for families, friends, visitors and locals to visit, stay longer and keep coming back. We’re building a destination that offers something exciting for every age and interest.”
Game Over General Manager Brad Ward said the project would redefine indoor entertainment in South East Queensland.
“This is a game-changing development for Game Over and a significant investment in the future of family entertainment in Queensland.
“We are creating an exciting destination where visitors can race, bowl, compete, play, celebrate and connect, all under one roof. The combination of Queensland’s largest electric go-kart track, bowling, cutting edge arcade and interactive attractions as well as quality food and beverage experiences will make Game Over Skygate one of the most exciting entertainment venues in Australia.”
The announcement comes as Brisbane Airport continues to deliver its $5 billion Future BNE transformation, strengthening the airport’s role as a gateway and economic powerhouse for Queensland.
