The Coffee Club Opens New Shipping Container Cafes at Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport (BNE) has become home to Australia’s first franchised recycled shipping container cafés with The Coffee Club opening two new stores on its Domestic Terminal forecourt.

The stores, which opened for trade recently, feature revolutionary sustainable green rooves sprouting shrubbery that converts the conventional concrete rooves into environmentally friendly structures.

With fully customised interiors and comfortable, covered outdoor seating for up to 60, the cafés offer everything from The Coffee Club’s excellent quick service coffee and take-away snacks and drinks to a variety of eat in meals.

Andrew Brodie, General Manager Airline and Retail Management Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), said new concept stores characterised the ‘fresh welcome’ BNE was striving for.

“These vibrant new cafés will up the ante, offering BNE travellers a contemporary alfresco dining and coffee shop experience boosting a real ‘sense of place’,” Mr Brodie said.

“These shipping container cafés provide a significant entry statement to our Domestic Terminal and we have no doubt travellers to and from BNE will embrace the new offerings, which set us apart from any other airport in Australia”.

BNE has had a long and successful partnership with The Coffee Club which has stores at the International Terminal and Skygate, with its fifth store due to open at the new BNE Service Centre mid-July.

The Coffee Club Director John Lazarou said Australia’s largest home grown cafe group is looking forward to expanding its network throughout Brisbane Airport.“The Coffee Club model is one that welcomes innovation which is why we are proud to announce these will be the first

franchised shipping container coffee stores in Australia,” he said“We pride ourselves on providing our customers with good food, great service and excellent coffee and are looking forward to welcoming travellers to our two new shipping container stores,” said John. The three new
