Brisbane Airport’s Skygate precinct is fast becoming a destination in its own right; contributing to the transformation of the airport into a commercial, industrial and lifestyle hub.

Recently undergoing a $35 million Stage 4 DFO expansion, Skygate is now home to more than 160 retail, leisure and dining options including Queensland’s first 24/7 Woolworths, a 24/7 gym, medical centre, 4.5 star hotel and childcare facilities as well as a growing list of commercial offices.

The development included a 4,950m² expansion to DFO with 30 new stores, five alfresco dining restaurants, 1,000 bay multi-level car park, commercial offices, children’s playscape and improved pedestrian connectivity. It’s a revitalisation which has picked up an Excellence in Design award from the Property Council of Australia.

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC)’s General Manager of Commercial Businesses John Tormey says the expansion has helped Skygate gain traction as a premier business destination.
