Schneider Electric powers up at Brisbane Airport
3 November 2022: Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is set to welcome international energy management and automation leader, Schneider Electric, which will base its new Queensland headquarters at the airport.
The digital energy brand has committed to a new office and warehouse at the Da Vinci Business Park precinct, joining more than 425 businesses.
Schneider Electric will occupy an office and warehouse space of approximately 6,200sqm, which is being developed by BAC to meet strong demand for its premium 24/7-operation industrial sites.
The Schneider Electric base includes hardstands and more than 60 car parks, as well as two electric vehicle charging stations. Additional sustainability features in the development include solar generation that will produce 420kW of energy and efficient water fittings.
Martin Ryan, BAC’s Executive General Manager Commercial, said the airport’s highly-connected industrial precinct was well positioned to cater for the needs of major companies like Schneider Electric.
“Demand for logistics and warehousing operations is increasing and we are pleased to see leading international companies choosing Brisbane Airport to meet their growing needs,’’ he said.
'Da Vinci Business Park is one of our premier development precincts with its excellent onsite amenity and connectivity to major transport links, including easy access to air connections and highways to the north and south.”
Schneider will join existing tenants in the Da Vinci precinct including DHL, the Virgin Australia Training Centre, QANTAS Flight Training Centre and Aviation Australia.
Schneider Electric Vice President, Global Supply Chain & Customer Experience - Pacific Zone Tina Hu said the company chose Brisbane Airport for its superior facilities and transport access, as well as means for around-the-clock operations.
“Being based at Brisbane Airport means we have direct access to road and air transport to deliver our products to customers as quickly and as efficiently as possible, supporting our best practice customer experience focus,” said Tina.
BAC is guiding the responsible development of one of Queensland’s largest mixed-use sites, with 2,700-hectares of landholdings at Brisbane Airport.
Demand is growing in Brisbane for warehousing and logistics services to support the rise in online shopping.
Brisbane Airport is highly regarded and sought-after for industrial tenants with 24/7 operations at the gateway to Queensland.
The Schneider Electric development is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
