New QantasLink services a bonus for Qld

Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited (BAC) welcomed today’s announcement by QantasLink heralding new direct flights between Brisbane-Charleville and Brisbane-Emerald as well as increased frequency between Brisbane-Moranbah from 17 October 2011.

The airline will also base two additional B717 aircraft in Brisbane in preparation for new regional jet services to commence in 2012.

Julieanne Alroe, CEO and Managing Director BAC, said, “Aviation is all about connecting routes and networks, reducing the distance between destinations, and bringing people across Queensland and the world closer together.

“The ‘Q’ in Qantas stands for ‘Queensland’, and these new QantasLink services and aircraft show that Qantas remains committed to its origins.

“We congratulate Qantas on today’s announcement.

It’s great news for Queensland and even better news for the regional communities that will benefit greatly from improved access and frequency to quality air services,” said Ms Alroe.
