Multiagency training exercise at BNE

A multiagency training exercise hosted by Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) will see emergency crews respond to a simulated aircraft incident in the shallows of Moreton Bay on Wednesday 12 March.

Commencing around 9am, approximately 150 personnel from BAC, Queensland Fire & Rescue and Queensland Police, as well as volunteers from SES and The Coast Guard among others, will participate in the exercise.

A bus placed atop a barge positioned in Moreton Bay will replicate a distressed ‘aircraft’, with emergency response crews conducting a full scale, real-time rescue effort in response to the ‘incident’.

The exercise is expected to conclude around 5:00 pm.
