Monday 16 July 2018: On Tuesday 10 July, Dr Markus Miele, Co-Proprietor of Miele — the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances — visited the construction site of the new Miele Brisbane operations at Brisbane Airport.

Brisbane Airport Corporation’s (BAC) property division, BNE Property, is responsible for delivering the 7,065m² tailored warehouse, office and showroom facility within the highly desirable Australia TradeCoast region.

BAC’s General Manager of Commercial Businesses John Tormey said the journey undertaken from Germany to Australia by the fourth generation Miele owner is welcomed and boasts the significance of the Queensland market to the international corporation.

“I had the pleasure of accompanying Dr Miele through the construction site at Brisbane Airport where we discussed floor plans, project deliverables and milestones,” Mr Tormey explained.

“Dr Miele travelled from Germany to visit the new premises — it is a clear indicator that there is confidence in the Queensland economy when such activities take place.

Miele’s Managing Director and Co-Proprietor Dr Miele said that he was impressed with the new location of the highly anticipated project.

“I am personally very excited to be here from Germany to see the project come to life,” Dr Miele said.

“It was a multifaceted process for our Miele Australia operations to define the new premises requirements and select the ideal location to foster future business growth for our company.

“The location is perfect given its proximity to our brand new experience centre at Newstead and the major arterial road network, allowing for our delivery fleet to navigate through South East Queensland more efficiently.

“We also have the added bonus of our workforce being able to access the extensive and convenient range of public amenities which are rarely available so close to such a warehouse, office and showroom facility.”

Once the new facility is fully operational in late 2018, the Miele Brisbane workforce will join another 23,000 workers across more than 420 businesses on Airport.
