Management changes at BNE - New GM Airline and Commercial Businesses

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has announced changes to its Senior Management team with Andrew Brodie (currently General Manager Terminal Retail & Commercial at BAC) taking up the leadership of the combined groups of Aviation Business Development and Terminal Retail & Commercial as the General Manager, Airline and Commercial Businesses.

Andrew Brodie will officially step into the expanded role from 1 August 2013, following the retirement of BAC stalwart Cam Macphee who has headed up the Aviation Business Development team for over 10 years.

Over the next few months Andrew and Cam will be working closely in a hand over program with both attending the up and coming Routes event in Mumbai.

Julieanne Alroe, BAC CEO and Managing Director said the appointment brings together a number of marketing and analytical synergies within the group while leveraging Andrew’s extensive commercial, business and negotiating experience.

“Andrew has over 17 years' experience in retail, having spent 15 years with GPT/Lend Lease and AMP in senior portfolio management roles responsible for the management and leasing of many leading Australian shopping centres.

“He also held the position of GPT’s Retail Capital Transaction Manager responsible for acquisition and disposal of retail assets both into and out of the GPT Core and Wholesale Funds, experience which makes him ideally suited to this new senior management role.

Andrew also has a Bachelor of Business Real Estate Valuation and Administration, holds a real estate license in Queensland and also was director of GPT's Property Management Company.

“I would also like to acknowledge Cam’s service to BAC and his leadership within our Senior Management team, he is one of the true gentlemen of the industry and well respected by all,” Ms Alroe said.

“Cam will be greatly missed and we wish him the very best as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement,” she said.

While enjoying spending more time with his family Cam is also planning to take up some board appointments and advisory positions in the aviation industry.

As part of the change, two new reporting roles to Andrew Brodie will be established to manage each department, Head of Terminal Retail and Commercial and Head of Aviation Business Development.

From 1 August, Toby Innes will take up the role of Head of Terminal Retail and Commercial.

Recruitment for the Head of Aviation Business Development will occur later in the year.
