Emirates A380 returns and improved timings for B777 services

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) welcomes the announcement by Emirates to significantly upgrade its schedule and restore an A380 service on one of its three daily services between Brisbane and Dubai.

The A380 service will arrive in Brisbane at 6:25am and depart 9:00pm daily from 2 September 2018.

Showing confidence in the Brisbane and Queensland market, Emirates has also significantly improved its schedule for its other two daily services which are both operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.

From 28 October 2018, Emirates daily direct service from Dubai to Brisbane will depart Dubai at 2:30am, arriving in Brisbane at 10:45pm. The revised daily Singapore stop-over service will depart Singapore at 10:10am and will arrive into Brisbane at 7:40pm.

The updates to the Brisbane services will offer passengers seamless one-stop connections from numerous European markets to Brisbane, reducing two to three hours off the journey time and making for a more attractive arrival time into Brisbane.

The retiming of these services will not only benefit Brisbane passengers, but also provide improved timings for residents of Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Airport’s broader catchment.

Gert-Jan de Graaff, BAC Chief Executive Officer, said, “Emirates has been a long term partner of Brisbane Airport, providing essential connections between Queensland, the Middle East and Europe.

“Of all of Brisbane Airport’s foreign airline partners Emirates carried the most number of passengers to/from Brisbane in FY18, proving its popularity among global travellers.

“Since the introduction of the third daily service last December, and with the reinstatement of the A380, Emirates’ seat capacity between Dubai and Brisbane has grown by over 40 per cent,” Mr de Graaff said.

Emirates is the only airline in Queensland to operate the iconic A380 aircraft. The A380 offers 489 seats in a three-class cabin configuration with 14 private suites in First Class, 76 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 399 spacious seats in Economy.
