Dinosaurs roar into Brisbane's newest entertainment hub
Brisbane Airport’s Skygate Centre is set to transform into Brisbane’s newest family fun hub with the arrival of live-entertainment giant Fever and its first pop-up Dinos Alive: An Immersive Experience next month.
Its first experience Dinos Alive will feature more than 80 towering animatronic dinosaurs, including the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and the small but ferocious Velociraptor, as well as sea giants in a unique virtual aquarium.
Budding palaeontologists can dig for fossils and learn about Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods through a VR experience.
The larger-than-life exhibition is the first of many new entertainment offerings coming to Skygate this year, as the precinct continues to evolve beyond a dining and retail destination into an expanded entertainment hub for locals and visitors to Brisbane.
Brisbane Airport Executive General Manager Commercial Scott Norris said the arrival of Dinos Alive marked a new era for Skygate.
“We’re building momentum and transforming Skygate into one of Brisbane’s fastest growing lifestyle and entertainment destinations for locals and visitors to Brisbane.
“Skygate has long been known as a leading retail destination, but we’re continuing to expand our precinct to create a place where families can shop, play and dine all in one convenient location.
“With attractions like Dinos Alive joining our diverse offerings, we’re redefining what it means to spending a day here at Skygate; whether you’re flying in or out, meeting friends or exploring with family.”
Fever Originals Manager Phil Mallet said Dinos Alive would be one of many Fever experiences to come to Skygate.
“We’re creating experiences where Brisbane families can come together for a memorable day out and we’re thrilled to join one of Brisbane’s up and coming entertainment precincts.
“If you’ve ever dreamed of coming face-to-face with towering carnivores and gentle giants, Dinos Alive is a must-see experience for dinosaur lovers big and small.
“Our state-of-the-art technology brings prehistoric creatures and landscapes to life, giving guests a chance to explore the world of dinosaurs in a way that’s engaging and educational for all ages.”
The waitlist for Dinos Alive is now open, with tickets on sale from 1 April.
Dinos Alive opens to the public mid-April.
Strategically located at Brisbane Airport, Skygate offers ample free parking and easy access to arterial roads.
Brisbane Airport recently welcomed Landers Pocket to the Skygate precinct, part of an expanded 16-hectare entertainment hub which features a 4 Pines Brewery and the Never Never gin distillery, complete with an 800-capacity venue, beer garden, gastropub dining, and multiple event and function spaces.
