Brisbane Airport welcomes Strategic Phuket service

Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited (BAC) has congratulated Strategic Airlines on its inaugural service to Phuket today.

The new flights will depart Brisbane on Thursdays and Sundays and will be operated by the airline’s dual-aisle 274 seat Airbus A330 aircraft.

BAC CEO and Managing Director Julieanne Alroe congratulated Strategic on the new route.

“Brisbane Airport always welcomes new services that open Queensland to the world, providing greater choice and opportunities for our passengers,” Ms Alroe said.

“Phuket is an extremely popular destination with Australian travellers and this non-stop service will make it easier for passengers to reach their destination, while also encouraging overseas travellers to visit Queensland.”

Ms Alroe said this new service is a clear vote of confidence in Brisbane Airport’s growing catchment area for outbound travel.

“With a record 19.7 million passengers through Brisbane Airport over the past calendar year, this new service recognises the strength of Queensland’s tourism industry, as well as Queenslanders’ personal appetites for overseas travel,” Ms Alroe said.

“Brisbane Airport congratulates Strategic Airlines on its new service and we look forward to further growing our strong relationship with Strategic in the future.”
