Brisbane Airport receives World’s Best Airport Staff honour in global awards

BNE also came in 2nd for Best Airports in the World (Australia/Pacific), up from 3rd place in 2014, retained 3rd placed ranking in the Best Airports in the World (servicing 20-30 million passengers), and increased its position to 20/100 from 23/100 last year in the Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airports list.

Julieanne Alroe, Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO and Managing Director, said winning the top award for airport staff was a tremendous honour for BAC and the extended Brisbane Airport family.

“More than 21,000 people come to work every day in one of the 420 individual business’ located at Brisbane Airport and these awards are a tribute to the incredible work of each and every one of those people who strive to provide the best possible services and facilities to travellers from across the nation and the world.

“From airline and ground handling staff, to volunteers, cleaners, security, customs, immigration, retail, and maintenance staff, and everyone in between, this award would not have been possible without these passionate professionals who put passengers at the centre of everything we do,” Ms Alroe said.

While hugely proud of the Skytrax awards, Ms Alroe said there was always room for improvement.

“These achievements only encourage us to work even harder toward our goal of being world-best and the first choice for passengers, airlines and business.

“We aim to do this by continuing to work closely with our partners to provide service excellence while investing more than $3.8 billion in major infrastructure over the next 10 years to further improve passenger services and the overall airport experience,” Ms Alroe said.

The World Airport Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry, voted by customers in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. The survey and awards process is independent and free of any airport influence or interference in final results.

The World Airport Awards are based on 13.02 million customer nominations across 112 nationalities of air travellers, and included 550 airports worldwide. The survey evaluates customer satisfaction across 39 key performance indicators for airport service and product - from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration, through to departure at the gate.
