Brisbane Airport goes green for school holidays

BAC's ECO Fair at Skygate 2016

Budding green thumbs, bee keepers, worm farmers and future eco-warriors will be in their element these school holidays at Brisbane Airport’s inaugural EcoFair, being held at Skygate, near DFO, from Monday 26 – Friday 30 September between 10 am and 3pm daily.

This free event has something for everyone with a series of sustainability themed exhibitions, demonstrations and activities aimed at inspiring, educating and entertaining people of all ages by showcasing simple and fun ways to incorporate eco-living principles into everyday life.

Daily activities include:

Monday 26 Sept: Grow your own herbs and vegetables, free succulent and plant giveaway, electric car energy display, kokedama ball making, as well as paper planes and hopscotch.

Tuesday 27 Sept: Bees and honey demonstration, worm farms at home, design and stamp your own tote bag, paper planes and hopscotch.

Wednesday 28 Sept: Domestic animal display, wildlife display, face painting and temporary tattoos, germinating seed balls, paper planes and hopscotch.

Thursday 29 Sept: Bike powered smoothies and tastings, chef demonstrations, grass heads, paper planes and hopscotch.

Friday 30 Sept: Council waste display, cooking demonstrations, magnetic field sensory bottles, paper planes and hopscotch.

All events are located in Skygate Centre next to DFO Brisbane Airport.

Workshops will be available out the front of Woolworths and opposite the kid’s play-scape in the Skygate Dining Precinct.
