BNE Welcomes New Jetstar Hawaii Service

Wednesday 2 April 2014: Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is pleased to welcome today’s announcement by Jetstar that it will fly non-stop services between Honolulu and Brisbane from 15 December 2014*, just in time for Christmas holidays.

The new Honolulu route will be the second wide body Jetstar service from BNE following the start of direct services to/from Bali which are scheduled to launch later this month.

Jetstar will operate an Airbus A330 on the BNE-Honolulu route with flights departing on Tuesdays and Fridays during the off-peak season, with a third weekly flight added on Sundays during the peak period.

BAC CEO and Managing Director Julieanne Alroe said the new flights means up to 1,212 additional return seats will be available each week between Hawaii and Brisbane increasing choice, flexibility and competition for all.

“Today’s announcement is more good news for Queensland and Brisbane with travellers given more options than ever before to take off and enjoy one of the world’s most iconic island nations.

“Pledging valuable aircraft and staff resources to a new destination or route is a huge commitment and I am confident these new services will be warmly embraced by locals and tourists alike.

“I congratulate the CEO David Hall and his team on this exciting news and my team and I very much look forward to working with Jetstar to maximise these new services,” Ms Alroe said.
