BAC to build new HMG Hardchrome facility at Airport Industrial Park

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) will deliver a world-class 13,244m² facility at Airport Industrial Park for a global leader in reclamation and manufacturing services, HMG Hardchrome.

BAC’s property division BNE Property will develop the new purpose-built office and warehouse facility, which will be the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.

BAC General Manager Commercial Businesses John Tormey said the deal is a great win for Brisbane Airport’s growing Airport Industrial Park precinct.

“Our office vacancy has remained the lowest in Australia at just 2.5 per cent,” Mr Tormey said, “The airport’s size, accessibility and amenity are continuing to attract great non-aviation commercial and industrial businesses.

“For Airport Industrial Park to attract a new industrial tenant, particularly an international company of this magnitude, in a competitive market demonstrates its strength as an industrial office location.”

Mr Tormey said the airport offers a unique business address, with the size and flexibility needed to deliver special purpose developments.

“The development is not only a reflection of Airport Industrial Park’s location and amenity, but also of our ability to deliver flexible solutions to meet our client’s needs.

“We are very pleased to have HMG Hardchrome on-board at Airport Industrial Park and look forward to working with them on the new facility which is scheduled for completion in October 2017.”

HMG Hardchrome Chief Executive Officer Lincoln Gibbons said Brisbane Airport was an ideal location to develop the company’s new Brisbane headquarters.

“The airport precinct has excellent connectivity to road networks and tunnels in all directions which was important to HMG Hardchrome,” Mr Gibbons said.

“Combined with the land availability, development flexibility and nearby amenities, this location offered everything we were looking for.”

HMG Hardchrome is a global leader in the reclamation and manufacture of components and assemblies used in heavy industrial environments such as resources, shipping, lift and shift, transport and manufacturing.

Airport Industrial Park has good public transport access and is a short drive from the Skygate precinct with DFO, a 24 hour Woolworths and Jetts Fitness, Dan Murphy’s, Golf Central, cafes, childcare and medical centre.

The introducing agent was Chris Davis from CBRE.
