BAC distributes $20,000 in grants to community groups

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has presented $20,000 worth of grants from its Community Giving Fund to more than 45 local community groups and organisations at a special function this morning.Recipients included:

Rachel Crowley, Head of Corporate Relations BAC, said the Giving Fund would make it easier for groups to apply for assistance.“Every year we’ve provided financial assistance to hundreds of individuals and groups but we realised that there were many who were not aware of how to approach us for help,” she said.“This new Giving Fund, which will accept submissions and make grants twice a year, will be a far more effective way for BAC to contribute to our local community.

“It’s all about finding great projects to support - big and small - with grants ranging from $250 to $4000. If a project or organisation helps the local community in some way, we want to get behind it,” said Ms Crowley.

Twice a year BAC will call for applications for grants for community projects that provide health and wellbeing, safety, sport, education, environment or other community benefit initiatives.
