Brisbane Airport - CareFlight partnership takes flight

Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited (BAC) and RACQ CareFlight today announced a new partnership which will see BAC become a major sponsor of the not-for-profit community rescue helicopter service.

As part of the new affiliation BAC will reimburse all landing fees at Brisbane Airport equating to $15,000 to $20,000 per year.

RACQ CareFlight CEO, Ashley van de Velde said he was excited to have Brisbane Airport on board.

“The sponsorship between Brisbane Airport and RACQ CareFlight is an association that we are very proud of.

“The decision to reimburse CareFlight’s aircraft landing and movement costs is one that will save our not-for-profit organisation upwards of $15,000 each year.

“CareFlight is a community service that relies largely on donations to function.

By eliminating these costs, we can ensure that our funding is spent on saving lives and improving our rescue service.

“We want to thank Brisbane Airport for their generosity and unwavering dedication to charities like CareFlight. Without them, we simply couldn’t service the 3.5 million people living in our flight region.”

BAC CEO and Managing Director, Ms Julieanne Alroe, said BAC was proud to be supporting such a renowned not-for profit organisation which has rescued over 16,000 people during its 30 years of operation.

“Many thousands of people owe their life to CareFlight and we value the important work they do assisting people in critical and life threatening situations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
