Brisbane Airport Corporation’s (BAC) Airline and Retail Management (ARM) team has ramped up its resources with the appointment of a third Aviation Business Manager. Denise Deveney will join BAC’s ARM division, led by General Manager Andrew Brodie, on 4 August 2014, bringing with her more than 30 years’ experience in tourism business development, including nearly nine years as the Director of Business Attraction - Aviation and Cruise at Tourism Queensland.

Her portfolio of responsibility at BAC will support the development of existing airline partnerships and attracting and securing new aviation alliances from across Australia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, the Pacific, North America and Hawaii. Ms Deveney’s appointment will complement BAC’s experienced Airline Business Development team including:

Ben James, Aviation Business Manager for China, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Japan and Canada.

Maaike van der Windt, Aviation Business Manager for South East Asia, Singapore, Indonesia and India

Carla Hannaford, Aviation Business Analyst

Karl Sikora, Marketing Manager

Toni Kasch, Promotions and Events Manager

Andrew Brodie, General Manager Airline and Retail Management BAC, said it was an exciting new era for Brisbane Airport with a strong team now on-board to drive BNE’s strategic aviation development plan.

“We have the right team in place at the right time to deliver the right results in terms of targeting emerging global markets and strengthening relationships with our most valued existing airline partners,” Mr Brodie said.

“There are some fantastic opportunities ahead with our comprehensive China Strategy, as well as some exciting infrastructure upgrades underway in our terminals including premium lounges and facilities that new and existing airline partners and their passengers will benefit from.

“The team’s focus is to make sure we leave no stone un-turned when it comes to leveraging Brisbane, Queensland and Australia’s appeal to attract new airlines, while supporting those airlines which already connect our great city to nearly 70 destinations world-wide,” Mr Brodie said.

BAC’s Airline and Retail Management team will work closely with industry and government partners to heighten Brisbane’s visibility as the gateway of choice for business, leisure, study and events.

“While the tourism industry is a major beneficiary of Brisbane Airport’s extensive network and range of airlines, the benefits stretch much further, supporting freight, education, events and small businesses.

That’s why BAC is committing serious resources to maintaining our competitive edge and employing strategies that will provide long-term benefits to the city, state and our airline partners,” Mr Brodie said.
